Deregister a car without a vehicle registration document?

Hello everyone,

I sold a car with license plates and a vehicle title. I no longer had the vehicle registration document.

What must the new owner of the vehicle take into account if he wants to deregister the car?

Can he still deregister it without any problems?

Does he need a power of attorney?

Just get a new vehicle registration document issued; that's the cheapest option. Otherwise, your only option is this affidavit.

As the seller, you have to take care of it…either an affidavit or apply for a new vehicle registration…

It is your responsibility and duty to apply for a new one.

It's just an illusion, but it hardly plays a role

Without a vehicle registration document, you can't re-register a vehicle. Accordingly, you now have to find where you have the vehicle registration document. What you still forgot is the TÜV report. Without that, you can't register a vehicle.
