This is just my logical explanation (no Duden, nothing):

Nutella comes from the Italian (from Ferrero). It consists of groove, which is quasi nut and ella, which is a female form.
So the Nutella

I still say the Nutella 🙂

I always say “the Nutella” but actually I could only explain “the Nutella” because “the paint”.
