Can't move files?

I bought a new 2TB SSD from Kingston but only have 2 SSD slots on my motherboard and wanted to take out one of the SSDs. I've now started temporarily moving the data to my HDD so that I can remove the SSD and install the new one. I selected the files and pressed Ctrl+X and then moved them to the HDD with Ctrl+V. At first everything worked fine up to 60%, then the data transfer suddenly stopped and the estimated remaining time kept increasing until it just said Calculating… I then waited about 30 minutes to see if anything would happen but somehow it froze or something. I then restarted my PC and tried again but it didn't work. Now it won't even start moving the data. I can't stop it either. Please help.

Could it be that applications are open in the background that disrupt the moving of files?

You could just start copying the stuff. And then take the whole thing up and take it in pieces. And you still have all the data on your SSD?

I actually wanted to point out whether the data is still existent or lost. Can you copy them back?

Copy everything back. Then format the HDD properly. And then the whole story ugly CopyDon’t move.
