The date changes to 1930 instead of 2030?
Hello,
I created an Excel list with two different date entries.
Once start (e.g. 25.12/2024) and end (e.g. 25/12/2028) I have set it up so that if I enter the date as above, it is automatically displayed only with separators.
I enter the date like 25/12/24 result is same 25.12.2024
Problem is now.
If I enter it like this with the slash and only two digits at the end, the result is 1930.
Example:
25/12/24 = December 25, 2024
25/12/30 = December 25, 1930
Is there any way to change it so it goes up to 2100 or so? Or so that it displays correctly for me (2030)?
Thanks
Change Windows settings:
System control → Region → More settings → Date → “Two-digit annual figures” to e.g. 1950 – 2099.
In Excel explicitly enter four digits:Instead of 30 → 2030.
Use formula:
=WENN(JAHR(DATUM(2000+ PART(A1,7,2), PART(A1,4,2), PART(A1,1,2)) <2000,A1+100,A1)
Thank you.
Enter the annual number 4-digit.
1930 the first 30’s number is known to the Excel (EDV date beginning 1.1.1900) and this is logically taken.
Hello,
The problem occurs because Excel assumes that two digits (e.g. 24 for 2024) are used for years between 1900 and 1999. So if you enter “25/12/30”, Excel interprets it as 1930 because it assumes that the year 30 in the 20th. century.
To solve this, you can change the date formatting in Excel. Here’s how you do this:
1-Reel the cells where you enter the date.
2-Click with the right mouse button and select “Format Cells”.
3-Go to the “Pay” tab and select “User Defined”.
4-Gib in the “Type” field: TT/MM/YYYYYY (this ensures that Excel always displays four-digit years).
If you need a more accurate control of the date calculations or work regularly with dates, it might be helpful to have a Time management tool to use this type of calculations automatically and facilitates your life.
Hopefully this will help you! Let me know if you have any questions.
here Excel acts dynamically, it depends on what year we currently have, the immediately surrounding years (I believe) up to the next decade are always assigned without the full year number, all others should always enter four digits in order to have no disagreements.
