Can my child go to school in Greece without deregistering from the town hall in Germany?
Hello everyone, my question is, can I take my 8-year-old child to his grandmother in Greece without deregistering him here in Germany? I recently went to the Citizens' Registration Office, and they told me that's not possible! Only if I deregister him completely, and I don't want to do that. Does anyone know if it's possible? Best regards, and thanks in advance. Stefan
I’m sorry. If the child is subject to schooling, it must be registered in Germany to be registered in another country.
Thank you for your super fast response. LG Stefan
That means if I cancelled my child, would I have no entitlement to child benefit or?
Thanks in advance 🙂
The entitlement to child benefit is based on the income tax law. If you have your residence or usual stay in Germany, you are subject to unlimited income tax. Your entitlement to child allowance is doubtless, even if your child lives abroad.
as well!
Hello, this is a great news 🙂 . The entitlement to child allowance is limited.
This means that I can bring my child to Grandma to Greece and must report it here in Germany from the civil office and receive the child’s money I work and, of course, in Germany …
Best thanks and best regards…
