Can you use an artist's unreleased song?
I want to produce and release a song as a tribute to an artist. The song is based on an unreleased excerpt of a song that leaked two years ago. I took the idea from the excerpt and built a song around it. If I release it now, will I be violating copyright? After all, the song has never been officially released and probably never will, since it's an old demo. If the artist does release the song in the distant future, what can I expect?
For the distributor: Do I have to declare it as a cover, list the artist as the composer, or leave him out completely?

Yeah, I got a lot of unreleased songs on the phone.
But I am talking about publishing the song on Spotify and other streaming services 😀
If not, many have already tried spotify or so it will remove. But if you want to do too much
