Yesterday, while I was climbing some stairs on my mountain bike, my shock (RockShox Deluxe Select R) punctured. Suddenly, there was a black ring that I didn't recognize and that wasn't there before. My question is: what kind of ring is that, and can't I just let the air out and then push the ring back in when the shock is at its lowest point?

Hello, I’m not a professional in the area of the dampers, but that looks strong for seal. If that’s so out, I don’t think that’s what’s going on. Worse say they have to be replaced.
