Customs fees when ordering from Rhode?

I'm planning to place an order with an online retailer from the US, specifically Rhode, which states on its website that both customs duties and value-added tax (VAT) are included in the price, so there will be no additional charges for deliveries to Europe. However, I saw in a TikTok video from 2022 that a customer had to pay additional customs duties. Now, I'm not sure if this was the case in the past and has changed, or if it's still the case. Could there still be unexpected charges in this case, or can I be sure that there won't be any additional costs? Has anyone had a similar experience and can help me?

IOSS has been around since 2021:

The new VAT system Import One Stop Shop (IOSS) comes into force.

Sellers from third countries can register with this system and transfer the import VAT to the EU in advance for sales with a material value of up to 150 euros. The buyer then no longer has to pay customs fees upon import, but instead pays the tax to the dealer at the time of purchase.

If the dealer participates, you actually pay nothing for delivery in Germany.
