Cultural Care Au Pair? Looking for recent experience?
Hello
After her apprenticeship, my daughter wants to spend a year as an au pair in America (that's currently the country she has in mind, but that might change).
Yesterday she told us about the organization "Cultural Care Au Pair" from Zurich (according to the contact details on the website).
However, I find very few, and especially no current, reviews online, which seems a bit strange to me.
There is one answered question in this forum, but it's 10 years old and something has certainly changed in the meantime, in whatever direction.
Are there people here who have had personal experience with the company?
Or perhaps agencies that also place au pairs and are safe, reputable and affordable?
We're from Switzerland and my daughter is turning 19, so as a father I'm naturally a little nervous thinking about spending a year in America.
Therefore, security, reliability, the possibility of contact with the au pair agency, etc. are important to me.
Thank you & greetings
No, I can’t serve it.
When it comes to the United States, however, I can assure you that the agencies must adhere strictly to the laws of Homeland Security, otherwise they lose the status as a sponsor.
Whoever occurs as an Au Pair agency is automatically registered as a sponsor for the required visa and therefore obliged to work according to these policies:
Sponsors are required to:
Sponsors must ensure the following:
Eligibility:Must be 18-to-26-years-old, proficient in spoken English and must complete at least six hours of academic credit or its equivalent at an accredited U.S. post-secondary educational institution.
Work hours:Childcare is limited to no more than 10 hours per day, and to a maximum of 45 hours per week.
Childcare Experience:Provide up to 10 hours a day/45 hours a week of childcare.
Financial Compensation:Au pairs are compensated for their work according to theFair Labor Standards Actas interpret and implemented byDepartment of Labor.

Yes, but the agencies all work similar, they check whether young people qualify, search by Internet the families, bring au pair and host together (match!). If all this fits, the visa will be requested.
Financial, the fee should be more than covered by the merit as an au pair. The au pair should be able to make this year plus/minus zero, with a small final trip in the end
These contacts are deposited on the website,

The agency has been renown and has long been listed as a sponsor. If she admits to the daughter, you can trust her. Reviews are always written only when it doesn’t work well or there are Benefits for positive reviews. (Also often Fake!)
Hey, first respect to your daughter – a year as an au pair in the USA is ne mega experience! And as an concerned father, of course, it is understandable that you don’t just say “Jo fits already”.
For Cultural Care Au Pair:
They are one of the largest agencies and have been providing au pairs to the USA for over 35 years. Sounds solid, but I’m right for you – current reviews on the net are rough. Maybe it helps to contact the agency directly and ask for former participants.
If you want to check other options, here are some well-known alternatives:
•AIFS Educational Travel → Large, international agency with lots of experience.
•Stepin → German agency with good reputation, also takes care of insurance & Co.
•Ayusa Intrax → Also established and specialized in the USA.
It is important that the agency provides good care on site and your daughter does not run completely lost in the states. Perhaps some Worst-Case scenarios can also pass through (e.g. “What if the host family is not so cool?”).
In short: Cultural Care is not a no-name, but compares quietly several providers – safe is safe! And don’t worry, after a few weeks at the latest, your daughter will be more English than any crime scene commissioner. 😄
