When in Spanish?

"Cuando pueda" always means "if I can" or does it mean "when I can"? So, is it conditional (not certain if it will happen at all) or temporary (certain that it will happen, just not certain when it will happen)?

And would it make a difference if you wrote "Cuando puedo" or not? I know that pueda and puedo have the same meaning.

Temporal. At least I guess so, because in Latin and Italian it is the same — there is quando by the way, not only a temporal conjunction, but also a temporal interrogative verb (“wann …?”).

  • Cuando pueda. = Then if I can.
  • Si puedo. = If/cases I can. (Conditional)

Cuando both have occurred in one, especially if not yet. A pure condition (if possible or not) would be with si. Pure temporal cúando in the form of when writes with accent.
