Crunchyroll is lying for no reason?

Hello,

I'll get straight to the point: When I watch a certain number of episodes on Crunchyroll, usually 5-6, the episode starts to lag and load. This makes it impossible to watch. It's not my browser, as I've tried many other browsers without success. Browser add-ons can't be the cause either, as the problem also occurs in the desktop Crunchyroll app. Everything works perfectly on my phone. I'm asking for help.

I have the same problem with the Playstation 4, but it starts from approx. 15 minutes suddenly look. On the laptop, however, everything continues to work quite normal.

When I wrote the support, the following answer came:

Since the servers for the different devices are located in different parts of the country, it sometimes depends on the correct DNS server being addressed. Therefore, please try to change the DNS settings of your PS4.

You will find DNS servers from different providers below.

OpenDNS server:

Primary: 208.67.222.222 Secondary: 208.67.220.220

Public Google DNS servers:

Primary: 8.8.8.8 Secondary: 8.8.4.4

Cloud flare:

Primary: 1.1.1.1 Secondary: 1.0.0.1

On PS4:

1. Go to the device settings and select “Network”.

Two. Choose “Set up Internet Connection” and use “WLAN” or “LAN cable” on the next screen, depending on what you prefer

3. Select “User Defined”.

4. Navigate to the “DNS settings”.

Five. Change primary DNA to 8.8.8.8 (or alternatively to 208.67.222.222).

6. Change the secondary DNA to 8.8.4.4 (or alternatively to 208.67.220.220).

7. Then confirm the setting with “Next”.

8. Test the Internet settings.

This DNA change seems to work well with ongoing video problems.

I didn’t get anything. But maybe there’s something for you (the guide is here of course now for the ps4 but there’s something in the direction for the PC

Here are some steps you can try to further limit the problem and possibly fix:

  1. Update the app/browser: Make sure you use the latest version of the Crunchyroll app or browser. Sometimes updates can fix errors.
  2. Delete the cache and cookies: Try to delete the cache and cookies in your browser or app. Outdated cache data can lead to charging and streaming problems.
  3. Check your internet connection: Check your internet connection for stability and speed. Slow or unstable connections can lead to charging times. A wired connection can often be more stable than WLAN.
  4. Disable VPN or proxy: If you use a VPN or proxy, try to disable it and see if the problem continues. Sometimes VPNs or proxies can lead to connection problems.
  5. Update your device drivers: Make sure your graphics and audio drivers are up to date. Outdated drivers can lead to power problems.
  6. Close other programs: Ensure that during streaming no other programs will run in the background that might consume resources and impair performance.
  7. Hardware acceleration: Check if the hardware acceleration is activated in your app or browser. Activating or deactivating this setting can sometimes fix streaming problems.
  8. Contact the support: If the problem continues, contact the Crunchyroll support. You may offer more specific solutions to your problem.
