Crossed check?

I received a crossed check from London. My girlfriend and I had it credited to her account. The money was in her account after just one day and she withdrew a partial amount, another partial amount on the second day and again on the third day. However, when she came to collect the rest on the fourth day, the payment was not possible and we don't know why. So the question is: could the person who issued the crossed check have blocked it afterwards or even taken it back? Is that possible?

Probably you’ve become a victim of a cheque fraud.

While banks check the check, some of them write the amount well, subject to the account.

Probably this happened right here, the amount was not booked final, the girlfriend hasn’t been paying attention and now the check has probably been placed and not credited.

Are you not surprised that someone from London had a completely German-speaking check from the German branch of a bank?

Apart from the fact that cheques are not safe if you don’t wait until the final credit.

Your girlfriend’s supposed to check her account statements or turn to her bank, and she’ll learn more.

Since the redemption of a cheque is not guaranteed, the credit is generally made subject to reservation, it can therefore be reversed within a few days if the bank (i.e. the bank specified on the cheque) refuses the redemption.

Reasons for this can e.g. that the check is not covered or the specified account no longer exists.

Probably your girlfriend is now in her account neatly in the minus.

The handwriting on the cheque, by the way, seems strange to me, and I’ve researched the old questions here.

Look at this.

Apparently you’ve become a victim of a cheque scam.

You probably didn’t pay attention to the value. In case of billing checks, it takes a few days before you can have the money, the bank only checks whether the account of the exhibitor is covered.

If it wasn’t in your case, money won’t be credited to you.

Who’s gonna make checks? Sounds like fraud.

Is this possible?

Yes the check can be locked or it’s “not covered” so it’s nothing on the account of the checker.

Your bank won’t notice it after a few days.

A submitted check is credited with the e.V. note (only reserved for entry). Then your bank requests the amount from the checker’s bank. If nothing happens, the check will be canceled again. If you have already lifted the money, the account is in the minus.

Some banks also block the e.V. credit until the check is really redeemed. A look at the account extract will surely help you

Apparently we even have to do it here with an old acquaintance – see comment on my answer.

In the past, he used order checks from Deutsche Bank, now he has one of the Citigroups.

This is an order check that is only credited to the recipient. Can’t be submitted by everyone. The bank’s credit can be made faster than the payment bank’s release. You will receive information from your bank.

You have to ask the bank. My guess: The account has a monthly limit for payouts.

or the check is empty – because the account of the payer is not sufficiently covered

The money has already been credited, which is only done after checking the check.

The money has already been credited, which is only done after checking the check.

This is a mistake.

The credit is usually made directly after the check has been filed (with a score of 2-3 business days later), but with the note “Required entry” (“E. v.”).

Up to ten business days may pass until the actual availability of the cheque amount (see https://www.bafin.de/SharedDocs/FAQs/DE/Consumer/Bank/Payment Traffic/05_scheckgutschrift.html), and within this period a revocation of the credit is also possible.

I also frozen the credit of a foreign bank for a few days, because the economic future was unclear there by citizenry/revolution. This is not the case, but there can be reasons for rebooking.

then perhaps the problem is

“I got a check” and “My girlfriend’s account”

there was no possibility to exclude the transfer of the check …

there was no restriction that the check

Did you expect that check? Is a claim based on you? If he was to be a gift, you were a little too good-being…

Maximum monthly payout of the account.
