Creality Ender 3D printer start?

Hello, I got a Creality Ender 3 Neo 3 printer for Christmas and set it up and downloaded the app. However, I can't connect it to my laptop via cable, let alone print anything or anything else. Whenever I try to print something from the SD card, the needle goes down after heating up and then stops. The button then shows "Homing Failed" and asks me to restart the printer. How do I get started with the printer and how can I print something? The instructions only said something about the setup, but nothing about possible errors or how to get started.
