CPU und Mainboard einfach wechseln – NAS?

Guten Abend liebe IT Community,

ich würde bei meinem alten PC gerne die CPU und das Mainboard tauschen. Es läuft TrueNAS Scale darauf. Aktuell ist ein Intel Core 2 Quad aufm LGA 775 Sockel mit mATX Board verbaut. Limitiert auf 8GB RAM (weil nicht mehr geht). Ich würde gerne auf einen R5 5600G oder ähnliches Upgraden mit 16 oder 32 Gig Arbeitsspeicher.
Kann ich das einfach so machen, ohne groß was neu einrichten zu müssen und ohne, dass ich Probleme mit der installierten Software bekomme? Es sind keine VMs oder ähnliches installiert.

Netzteil habe ich schon umgebaut, als ich den PC als NAS umfunktioniert habe. Ist ein Seasonic G12 GC-550 Watt 80 Plus Gold. Vorher war ein Chinaböller verbaut.

Ryzen 9?

Hallo ich habe aktuell einen ryzen 7 5800x im pc der langsam in verschieden games zu kämpfen hat ich will aber nicht mehrere tausende euros für neues mainboard und cpu ausgeben wäre es eine gute Idee auf den ryzen 9 5950x zu wechseln

If the OS brings the required drivers, the move to another base should not be a big problem.

Of course, I would always recommend data backup.

The power supply is completely oversized! A reasonable 250 W power supply would have to be sufficient. You haven’t built a high-end graphics card!

TrueNAS Scale should actually bring everything.

I don’t know where to secure. Hard drives are all full and so much memory I have nowhere to save it.

Well,

  1. was the power supply for a few euros on Amazon then and
  2. The components are not exactly efficient. I’ve caught the ridge because the fan ran permanently to 100%.

Didn’t know if I might add the power supply somewhere else. That’s why the middle taken with 550 watts.

Of course, you make a backup of the data without RAID.

Possibly, the change shoots you the software Raid then the data is no longer legible, but that is no problem.

Yes, I’ll copy the most important data.
As important as the data are not now, are just a few holiday pictures and backups from the mobile phone/PC.

Previously we had an album now everything is digital and just saved, many are there after a disk crash with empty hands.

Well, the pictures aren’t so important to us… when they’re gone, they’re gone.
And at this time everything is now digital.
If one of the two HDDs fails, the images are also gone.
I’ve never had the money to buy real NAS records and create a RAID 1 or similar.

In the meantime, however, I have built 2 new 1TB Sata SSD, where I store data that are more important to me.

The HDDs are only old from any device I ever had. It’s all low budget.

I know, absolutely unprofessional.
