Convert naturally aspirated engine to turbo with 1.8t control unit?

Hello guys, I had the fun idea of converting a naturally aspirated engine to a turbo.

A programmable control unit is too expensive.

Then I asked myself, isn't it possible to buy a 1.8t control unit, throw it onto the vacuum cleaner and then adapt the software with a flasher?

Sure you can do that. Maybe hold a minute – then the engine is junk.

If it starts at all, the control unit must be identical first. Then all sensors are missing or give false signals. The ECU recognizes this and prevents the start process and your car becomes the property.

for those who can do it.

I think it's nothing for beginners

It's nothing for beginners, but if you've got a kick out of it, just try out. Reports would like to see if it worked 🙂

If you make the necessary hardware adjustment and then you can reprogram the bus… Yes

Because control unit hangs on the bus and the bus controls ALL in the car

BUT, if DAS has to ask, THEN would rather leave his finger on the whole issue

You know that a turbo engine is so hot because an exhaust gas turbocharger is installed? The ECU alone doesn't help.
