Connect audio interface to graphic EQ?
Hi, I have a Focusrite Scarlett Solo and would like to connect it to a graphic equalizer. I've set it up so that the XLR cable from the microphone goes first into the EQ and from the EQ into the interface. Unfortunately, no sound comes through, just noise. By adjusting the treble, however, I can hear that the EQ is working, because the noise also changes depending on the setting.
Did I do something wrong or is it simply not possible to connect an EQ to an audio interface?
Thanks for any answer.
names, details, pictures of how you connected what and where.
Hi, I've already discovered the problem: If the microphone (Shure SM7B with Triton Audio FetHead) is first connected to the EQ (Btuty EQ-215) and then to the interface (Focusrite Scarlet Solo 2nd Gen), it can't draw any power. But since the interface doesn't have an output that could feed into the EQ, I must have the wrong interface.
Now another question. Is there a preamp that has 48V phantom power, an input and output, and a USB port that can connect to a PC? So far, I haven't found anything that meets all three criteria simultaneously, because ultimately, the whole thing just goes into the PC for audio recording through the microphone. So, preamp -> equalizer -> PC
