Connect a keyboard with a PS/2 port via USB without an adapter?
My husband has had a new motherboard installed for his PC and would like to continue using his old keyboard with a PS/2 connector, as he originally received it from his father and feels connected to him through it.
He believes that an adapter might cause slight delays. Since he enjoys gaming on his PC, such delays would be disadvantageous.
Is it possible (purely theoretically) to "swap" the keyboard connector, and if so, what's the easiest way to do it? Since his new motherboard obviously no longer has a PS/2 port, only USB ports would be possible for the keyboard.
These are two very different connections, so unfortunately will not work. :
Cables can’t be exchanged, because wiring alone is quite different.
Do you know if the adapter can really lead to minimal delays? that would have been my first thought, but my man is the view that this can be a hindrance to gaming
Since the signals can be converted, there could be input, but unfortunately I cannot say how high the input was actually.
would it just try out
… use a USB/PS2 adapter,
works well.
