Conjugation; verb to call, what is the difference?
Indicative Preterite
my name was
Indicative Perfect
I was called
I have never heard anyone say: my name was or my name was …
For example, you could say my name used to be Müller
What do I say called or called?
“White” is wrong. There isn’t.
hot: it is called,
But there is actually a bit:
The strong verb called Partizip II. The weak verb is called partizip II.
I’ve been investigating in various places now and nowhere is a statement on this alleged 2. possible conjugation of “hot” (weak, regular) found that the Duden-online in the world. Even in Duden 4 and 9, I can’t find anything. Some other online grammatics have taken over this Duden nonsense (This is only my opinion!), even without proof that there is or existed this form.
Only in Duden 1 this form appears. However, the Duden mistakes “hot” with “hot”, e.g. in “to lift the sail/a flag”: We hoist the sails, have whipped the sails.
I would not use this weak form in your place, even if it’s in the Duden-online. The Duden is no instance beforewrites what is right or wrong. The Duden :just writes, “what people mouth sounds like.” It’s usually okay. But sometimes the Duden is next to it. A nice dialogue between a Russian-language questioner and a German answerer: https://en.hinative.com/questions/19316239 I think the FS has made a reasonable decision in the end.
Here’s another one Example for what for a Nonsense sometimes on the Internet: https://www.derkonjugator.com/eng/sich+hissen_pronominal.html
A. “Sich hissen” is not available. the conjugation is also incorrect, especially bad “Futur continuous 1”. There’s only chaos. And what to be a “continuous” futur is also ugly to me
🌿🌷Thank you for your star. 🌺🍃
If a young man is “removing” to wife and also lets his name change from Peter to Petra, then he says, “Before my operation I have promised Peter.”
This means that the name “Peter” is no longer valid.
In Bavaria, perfection is probably more common.
“I used to call Müller.”
But can I say ivh, or is there another meaning? I don’t really understand the difference…
go, go
run, run
There are good examples, one of them is yours.
In the end, it rarely makes a difference. Both are in the past. In Bavaria, for example, the first form of the past is less often used. Wrong is neither the first nor the second – one of them is only more unusual.
This has the same meaning.
Neither do I, and I’m not from Bavaria. I also do not know who has come to this nonsense that only preteriority is common, but not perfect.
With his wisdom, the Duden also contributes more to uncertainty than to help. Lt. Duden-online there are a weak, regular form of “hot”. If you search in Duden 4 and 9 for an explanation for this form, then it does not appear there (also not in the conjugation scheme!). But once put into the world, this alleged alternative is taken over in some other online grammatics (although not commented!), according to the motto “The Duden must know it.”
I’d say I’ve been shooting, I’ve been biting sounds kinda weird.
LG:)
But then why should I say I’ve been cut and not my name?
Please don’t say “I’ve got to go.” That’s cheese.
Either “I mean …” or “I said…“. What you take is no matter. Or you circumvent this verb and say “My name was ….
I’ve been walking and I have been shooting is both wrong!
I don’t care what you’re using, but when it comes to a text, for example, I would like to do that and you can use it in the task, not only preteriority but also perfect, so that it doesn’t sound boring,is so more variety 🙂
It doesn’t matter in this case.
Use what sounds better for you 😊
It doesn’t matter.
I’ve spoken is the right form. And this is not unusual, especially after name changes – mostly in women – by marriage.
But then why should I say I have spoken and not my name?
Nobody forces you to.
You can say I’ve been called or I’ve spoken, but I haven’t heard.
