Computer only connects to extender?
Hello, we have a router downstairs and an extender upstairs. Our computer is downstairs, and that's why it always connected to the router normally. Now it only connects to the extender, and the router's Wi-Fi is no longer even displayed. If we turn off the extender, the router's Wi-Fi is still not displayed, and our computer no longer has any Wi-Fi. Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this?
First, you should check the Wi-Fi on your router. Turn off all extenders and, with a cell phone nearby, check to see if the router's Wi-Fi is even turned on, and if so, why it's not showing up.
It could also be that someone has messed around with your WiFi.
If the Wi-Fi is turned off, well then you know what to do.
Many and it feels like/read that almost EVERYONE uses and sets up the extender incorrectly.
You ALWAYS put it halfway along the route and not where you need the WiFi.
So if your router is at the top and your PC AND extender are at the bottom, you know the error.
It might help to relink the extender.
However, if you change anything on the Wi-Fi and have a standard extender, in the worst case scenario you will have to set everything up again.
Okay thanks we'll look again
