Cold alcohol withdrawal third day?
Today is the third day of my cold turkey. I've been drinking an average of 10 to 15 beers every two days. How long should it take, on average, for the symptoms to subside? Right now, I'm feeling very restless, sweating a bit, and just generally not feeling well, but I often feel that way, even when I'm going through withdrawal. What can I expect in the next few days? I've also read about seizures and even delirium. I pray that won't be the case for me. 🙁
It’s great that you’ve been through for three days! Keep it up! Tell yourself every day you get tempted that it would be a pity if you had to start with the withdrawal completely from the front and that the 3 days were for free….
The withdrawal symptoms are different and also different intensive. It does not have to come to the ilirium and/or to seizures. This is rather rare, but of course not to exclude one hundred percent.
How long the withdrawal symptoms last is different for every person. However, you should assume that it can take several weeks, but it can already decay over time.
You’re on the right path! Up!
If you need help, contact the Anonymous Alcoholics. They are at your side with a lot of experience and advice. You know how the withdrawal is. There are all former alcoholics or addicts who are not yet abstinent. Everything is anonymous, as the name says. Surely you will find a self-help group near you. The participation is free. Further good performance and great success!
Thanks for the nice words! <3
I was told in the clinic at the time 14 days, but was not / not severely physically dependent, had just mega strong headaches and was totally restless and had badly sleeped, permanently sweated (but everything can also come from other diseases with me) 🙂
Cold withdrawal in alcohol abususus, usually only with a supervisor. You should go to the doctor every couple of days.
After about 10 days it will be better. Be careful about sporting activities, but move daily. A walk or light jogging is enough for now.
After 14 days about the physical symptoms are gone.
p.s.: Do not drink coffee to soothe you, better tea or similar. Many alcoholics become too bad coffee drinkers.
Why do you mean the sports activities?😦
You and your body will feel much better after a certain time. At this point one likes to overestimate and exaggerate it.
Even if you feel “normal” again, the body itself is still quite weak. At least the gauntlet’s dizzying.
First of all: well done. This is the beginning of your new life.
You’ve already received two very good answers here, I just wanted to give you a hint which could possibly support you. There are especially for the alcohol withdrawal apps that show you your progress and also respond to the side effects you have addressed during withdrawal. One of them is called “easyquit drinking”. There you give the day when you stopped drinking. And you give up how many drinks you took to you and what it cost.
The app then shows you your health progress every day and calculates how much money you saved with it.
As a small motivational aid 🙂
Thank you!
You don’t have to be surprised if you weigh 116 kg.
Yeah, I’m sure you could save the answer, didn’t you blame anyone else for it or?
