Clone hard drive from smaller to larger?
How can I mirror a smaller SSD to a larger one without splitting the larger hard drive into the cloned portion and the empty, unused portion? After completing the cloning process, I successfully cloned all four partitions (including Windows), but there was still a lot of space left in one extra partition, and when I tried to fit it into the other, I was forced to convert it to a dynamic disk, which I declined.
How can I clone the small SSD to the large one without turning the previous 4 partitions into 5 partitions, which would then be the unused storage.
(Here before cloning):
With Acronis Trueimage 2021 (There was the last version without an annual cost) the size adjustment goes automatically.
Also a software that creates this problem is “NTI Echo”, which is offered for download by some SSD manufacturers for free.
I cannot find the version without cost :/
If you look at the homepage of your SSD manufacturer, there are often software to clone in the download.
Anyway, I didn’t say anything that it always has to be free.
I also pay for it, but I also use it professionally.
Hi, the new hard drive I partitioned and formatted normally to full size, and then cloned with acronis true image.
I never had the effect described by you
With me, the entire memory difference is simply not partitioned and can then only be controlled as an extra volume.
Then simply expand the free memory afterwards, which creates for example the free software MiniTool Partitions Wizzard
Dynamic means that the size change is converted with. This is absolutely necessary if you do not want to have 4 instead of 3 partitions.
I will then be forced to convert my data carrier to a dynamic medium.
