Clicking on the record player?
Good morning,
I have a Technics SL Q6 turntable. Since today, however, whenever I try to start a record, it's been doing something strange (unfortunately, I can't embed a video, so let me know if you have any questions): It places the needle on the turntable, then clicks briefly, lowers the needle, and then puts it back on. This repeats until I stop it.
What could be the reason for this?
Thanks
This is a tangential player. I'm not entirely sure, but there's a light barrier in the tonearm near the stylus that detects the point of contact. Given its age, the thing might be a bit blind. Use a cotton swab and saliva to clean this light barrier. The thing has to be clean!
Can the arm be moved across the plate using the buttons on the device?
