Classification according to PIA educator training?

Hello dear community,

I've almost finished my three-year dual teacher training program and already have a contract in sight. My question is, can I negotiate my classification and move directly to level 2? Since I have three years of professional experience in the field, who do I need to negotiate with? Do you have any experience with this?

Best regards

Thegrouping depends on the actual activity. As a rule, the salary group for educators after TVöD-SuE is the S8a. For the S8b there are some criteria that must be met, for example a certain proportion of children with special needs per Kita group.

Thestubborn In turn, there is a difference between people who have made practical training. Some municipalities consider this form of training directly as the first professional experience and grade in the 2. Others, on the other hand, do not consider this training as a professional experience and grades in the 1st, as in the purely school-based training.

In the case of free carriers, the so-called prohibition of resetting takes place. Means if a free carrier receives municipal funding, which is the case with most kitas, DARF these carriers do not pay their employees better than those in urban kitas. So if the Commune here provides level 1 for starters after the PiA, these bearers are bound by their hands and they can only hire you in level 1.

Also by far not all free carriers really pay for TVöD, but often only “in line with TVöD”. Then there can be everything possible behind it – among other things also fixed containers, in which the step time does not come to bear.

Well, it is already “fair”; as it is handled equally within a community for everyone. And of course, someone from the PiA brings a little more practical experience than someone who only did internships in the course of the vicious training. But at the end of the day, both are more or less equal career starters for which stage 1 is actually provided. The fact that some level 2 is considered directly from the outset is due to the special case of the massive shortage of skilled workers in educators, and in other professional groups, this is not even discussed in the approach…

And even if you start in the 1 – it’s just a year until you get into the 2. And you will also fully benefit from the fact that in the last collective bargaining agreement it was decided that the stages in the SuE will again be matched to those of the general ones. Means that you need to move only 2 instead of 3 years in Level 2 and only 3 instead of 4 years for ascent in Level 3. Say, your salary will increase about 2 years faster than that of the people who have worked in the profession for a long time.
