Chocolate on the plane?

Hello Friends,

summer vacation is coming up and the trips are starting. I'm going away too. I want to take German chocolate with me for my grandparents. The problem is that I'm afraid the chocolate will melt, but I don't want to do without it because my grandma loves German chocolate more than anything.

1.Is it allowed to take chocolate on the plane? 2.Is there a refrigerator for passengers on the plane?

Hello! As a flight attendant, I can tell you that the chocolate does not melt in the plane, as it is often rather cool in the plane. There is no refrigerator for passengers. On board there is an icebox (in which our ice cubes are). But it is at the discretion of each individual crew whether they make an exception to chocolate. Sometimes there’s no room in it. Chocolate must be taken on the plane. Good flight for you and good appetite for your Omi—— pippi60 is right: in the baggage room it is very cool even in summer. It’s best out there!

If you pack them directly from the refrigerator, it’ll be fine. You can also pack them in aluminum foil, which also protects something.

pack them in the box! because in the frying room of a plane it is only about 3-5 degrees. it should not melt;)

Here is an info from Air Berlin:

“Honored Lord…
we will be happy to answer your request for the climate condition in our cargo rooms. The front cargo area, and exclusively in this, our four-legged guests are transported, is actually integrated into the air conditioning circuit of the cabin or the cockpit. In the Annex, this situation is systematically presented using the example of the heating system of our Boeing B737. Air pressure and temperature in the cargo hold cannot be regulated independently of the aircraft cabin, so that the climatic conditions in the cargo hold largely correspond to those you felt in the cabin. Due to the presence of the guests (and their nozzles), the humidity and temperature are probably slightly different, but in no way close to the freezing point!

The fact that the regulation of the environmental conditions in the cargo hold is not possible separately can also be avoided Save costs by controlling the temperature. The system of our Boeing differs only insignificantly from that of our Airbusse, so that you can travel your dogs on all our flights without worry.

We hope to have given you sufficient information and remain

with kind regards

But even in the rear cargo compartments, the temperature does not drop below 5° C.

In the plane it is not so warm in the cabin or in the cargo room that chocolate melts.

Leave her in the baggage. It’s cool in the luggage room!

You can take it, but there is no refrigerator. Simply pack the chocolate into the big baggage, the cargo and luggage compartment is not heated as much as the passenger’s room.
And if you don’t want to take a risk, store the chocolate in the freezer just before.

Just put them in the suitcase, in the cargo hold it is so cold that it won’t melt.I always care;)
