Chinchilla legt sich im badesand hin?
Hallo,
Mein Chinchilla spielt sonst immer komplett im Badesand, dreht sich und ist dann schon wieder draußen. Habe ihn aber grad nach dem Auslauf wieder frischen Sand rein und er hat sich erst ein paar mal gedreht, sich aber dann einfach reingelegt als wärs ein Bett und nichts mehr gemacht. Als ich mich dann schneller bewegt hab, ist er aufgeschreckt und raus aus Sand. Das Ganze jetzt 3x. Habe ihn noch nie im Sand liegen gesehen.
Ist das normal und er ist einfach nach Auslauf müde oder muss ich mir sorgen machen?

The sand bath is an important part of the healthy and satisfied life of the Chinchillas. It’s not just to clean up or get rid of annoying parasites. In nature, the sand area is also a social meeting place where it is played together and relaxed. And, yes, there are definitely Chinchillas who find it so pleasant that they sleep just a little bit.
If your animals like it, just let them do it! They are quite able to decide what is good for them! We already have enough access to the lives of our pets. That is why we should give them as many freedoms as possible. It’s also a matter of penning in the sand bath.
There are also people (as I am, for example) who have already slept in the bathtub because it was so heavenly relaxing…
So don’t worry. Your animals are healthy and completely satisfied when they behave like this!
Btw: You write of a Chinchilla. I hope you have more than just an animal!
