In Koeln there were always the cheapest long-range parking place in Germany. You can also stay overnight in the hotel before departure (Holiday Inn, directly at the airport) and then leave your car there for free.

I was once again in the parking lot at the Cologne airport of Parkundspar last week. This year, by the way, for the 3rd time, has to be unfortunately 😉 often to Spain. Otherwise, I’ve always parked in the car park at the airport, always for a week. And never it cost less than 39 euros for parking for 7 days. Now I was in P3, standing for 8 days and paying 44 euros. 6 weeks before parking and saving I only paid 25 euros for 8 days parking. But they didn’t have places to change.
Now I was back and was totally surprised: Everything new. New parking space clean, high fence with gate outside, guardhouse in the middle of the river.
