Charging a scooter battery in an enclosed space?

My neighbor has been charging a battery from his scooter in his basement for weeks.

Well, I just saw a note on the device saying the room must be well ventilated, otherwise there's a risk of explosion, but the room isn't ventilated at all. Do you think this is dangerous or toxic and should we talk to him about it?

such a battery doesn’t need several weeks to load, pull the plug out!

If it’s just a maintenance charge, it’s normal. The battery is constantly hanging on the charger.

If it’s because it’s at most, but there’s nothing happening with a maintenance charge.

Caution is only required with an acid-filled, ventilated battery. Nothing can happen with a closed gel battery.

Sounds like gel or at least maintenance-free. Because she’d have to be in control of acidity.

Due to its small size, it is not possible to exhaust much and all current chargers reduce the milliampere to such an extent that only their own loss of the battery is compensated.

I’ve already loaded larger lead acid batteries in small rooms. Never happened when I activated the light switch.

Only my buddy flew a battery around his ears. He didn’t know it was just loaded. It flexte (angle grinder) just next to the battery. Only after several minutes a spark flashed directly into the degassing hole, it banged.

An acid battery has dest for refilling. Water screw cap with vent hole.

I believe that only maintenance-free gel batteries are used in today’s scooters.
