Changing pills?

Hello first

I went to my gynecologist on Monday

She said that because of my complaints she would like to change the pill

So I have been taking Luvyna until now and should switch to Qlaira

My gynecologist told me to finish taking Luvyna for three more days (I'm taking the last one today) and then just start taking Qlaira after my period

Does Qlaira provide immediate protection or should I use a condom as additional contraception?

The package leaflet for the new pill says I should use 9 days of additional contraception

Thanks in advance 🥰

Check in the package leaflet of Qlaira how to change (whether directly without a break or with a break). Usually there is a way to change without losing protection.

I mean, too. And then the protection is preserved and you don’t have to additionally prevent it.

The protection of contraception remains as it is.

What changes is the composition of the hormones of the new pill. I had that before. Is half as wild

Just continue as before. As I said, take the “old” pill ready, break and then start with the new one after the pill break as usual

Yes, because your doctor knows what to do 🙂
I’ve done this too because I haven’t done the Lamuna anymore, it’s going smoothly.

If you’re so insecure, you’ll be able to prevent a condom for the first week, but you don’t have to. Since the protection still exists. I wouldn’t do that. I only do this if I want to postpone my period (on holiday already uncool)

But one can: at the end of the bright yellow, continue directly with the bright yellow from a new blister (Source Jenapharm)

The Qlaira is a multiphase pill and contains pills with a very low hormone dose at the beginning of the blister.

I would stick to the package leaflet in your place and switch directly without a break. Then you don’t need any extra contraception.

Hello Newyork05

If you leave the break and continue with the Qlaira the next day, your protection will be preserved.

This is in the package:

Attention: Please note the difference of these two different pills.

At the Luvyna you had 21 pills with 7 days break, at the Qlaira you take 26 coloring pills and 2 white pills (which are placebus and are your current break). That’s what you’re talking about after the 2 white pills. You take the Qlaira without a pill break.

Please also read the package leaflet carefully, in case of a bug you have to keep exactly what is in the package leaflet of Qlaira.
