Pistons are replaced if they are the cause of a loss of power or if the piston is seized.
Replacing them regularly is nonsense.

This depends on your driving style. However, I would do it if you're experiencing a loss of power. You can also easily change the piston yourself, saving you time and money. There are plenty of tutorials on YouTube.
