I bought a somewhat older carbon road bike today. As is typical with carbon, it has some paint damage. Do you have any ideas on how to improve it? I was thinking of painting over it with clear nail polish and then polishing it. Does anyone have any ideas? Or maybe even products for that?

I bought used Steinmetz exterior mirrors which are very rare and no longer manufactured. But I don't have an ABE for that. The exterior mirrors are electrically adjustable. My question: do I need to register them now? There's a number on the exterior mirror, but I want to be sure.

This looks more like damage to the carbon.
The frame breaks with bad luck when loaded without warning.
Also superficially it can already act like a predetermined breaking point.
You could at most grind the places a little as a repair attempt and apply them with epoxide. But this should first be tested in an inconspicuous place.
