Car purchase registration for first car?

Hi,

I want to buy a used car. Since it's my first car, I don't have insurance yet. The dealer says I should apply for temporary license plates and bring them with me.

But as far as I can see, I need insurance for this. And I'd be reluctant to take out insurance without first seeing the car or being sure I was buying it.

Unfortunately, the dealer is about 300km away, so a viewing and then coming back another time is rather inconvenient.

What is the best way to proceed?

Buy something else. The insurance for a short-term identifier costs a few euros and applies exactly as long as the license plate.

Without the data of the vehicle, you will not get a short-term identifier.

A car should not be bought at a distance of 300 KM, but on site. This makes much easier, even in the guaranteed line.

If you get an EVB number for KZK in the insurance of your choice, it will no longer cost insurance for the right admission. You need two EVB numbers.

Do you think this is a good idea to buy the first car under such conditions? How many times do you want to go there if you have complaints?

Yeah, and if a control lamp lights up, you drive 300 km to check?

Then you either have to bite into the acid apple and drive twice or look for a car near you. Without the papers, you won't get a license plate. And you can't get papers without buying. Don't buy blindly!

In the normal case, short-term identifiers are also obtained when a copy of the paper is presented. They only want to have the chassis number on the office in order to get the entries.

Research what insurance costs, select your insurance and call the hotline.

If you know everything better, why do you ask?
