Hello, I got an ancient Polaroid from my mother, which I've been using for four years. Everything worked fine up until now, but with my last roll of film, the camera started ejecting the entire picture and always stopped halfway through. Then I pulled the rest of the picture out of the camera (I suspect…
Hi, I'm looking for a suitable FDM 3D printer under €3,000. There are so many, and I'm desperate to decide which one would be best. The requirements are: equal to or below 0.1mm resolution (layer height) ABS printable larger print bed at least x: 200mm y: 200mm z: 200mm if possible a closed case so…
Hey, it's me again. I was looking for a lens for my Canon Powershot SX 540 HS, but… surprise, I didn't find anything. I'm slowly starting to believe that there are no lenses for this camera. Various forums also don't mention whether this camera supports a lens.
Hello everyone, I only take photos as a hobby with a very simple camera and am now looking for a higher-quality one, ideally under €800, to get started. I personally enjoy taking photos of nature, sunrises and sunsets, or simply while traveling. Since I don't have much experience with cameras, I wanted to ask if…
Hello, I have a Sony NEX 3N camera and want to buy a new lens for it. How can I tell if one will fit or not? Evening
Hey there, yesterday I set a longer exposure time for astro stuff and noticed that in manual mode (Canon SX50 HS powershot) the ISO value is set to 80 for an exposure of over 1 second, but I need an ISO of 600…
Low focal length and open panel. You have to look ISO. I had it at the last 800, f 3.5 at 10 sec, at least in one picture. Remember that the lights were right there after the blue hour. You can also see these light strips. However, you don’t always have them and if you don’t have them (or aren’t important to you) you can spend a long time.
Otherwise, the polar lights will be on the spot. At last, they were very high and I had to use 16mm even portrait format.
And do yourself a favor and create some landscape. This is like Milky Way and Co. Without a landscape part rather boring. It is important that the landscape is also visible and does not clean into black. You might have to adjust white balance.
I focused on AF in the dusk. Does not represent a problem for my camera and then switched over to MF. Then the focus will remain and you don’t have to sharpen.
What lens do you use? It should be as wide as possible, I used the Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM. It went halfway. With the focal length you can live, with the open panel you have to. It must not be smaller.
And then it means try out, ISO, possibly on 6400, exposure you need to test. Somewhere around 5 to 10 seconds it can be. Take care of light pollution, because every light on the horizon you will see. A headlamp with red light would be good and you should practice how to get the removal manually to infinite. Apply the setting ring to the day and if necessary.
Tripods and remote triggers are mandatory, as are coffee and a snack, if you are thrilled around 2 at night, a camping chair of course also. 😉
18-55 mm
Has IIRC an open panel of 3.5, which should reach 18 mm without falling into cost.
Better would be 2.0. But I didn’t. So ISO high and try, especially since you can’t estimate the brightness before. Important: we photographed polar lights in Tromsö and in the middle of Schleswig-Holstein. In both cases they were not visually recognizable, they seemed like white veil clouds and only afterwards visible on the display. It is rather rare to see them as such here in S-H. In Tromsö we had only one cloud window for about 2 hours, otherwise bad weather. So white veil clouds could be right, not foolish.
Ran to the bacon and take enough battery and reserve storage.
ps: not only the KP value is relevant, also the Bz index: https://www.meteoros.de/themes/polar light/concepts and analyses
Someone speaks of experience. Glue the ring has betrayed you
But I haven’t betrayed what. It wasn’t a second glue. 😉
I prefer that too.
Tank leaves glue ester, I take crepe
Panzertape or Tesa Krepp?
