Hello

The EF 35/1.4L II USM is still the benchmark optics in the autofocus class with the highest resolution/image quality in the open panel on Canon sensors. The sigma is smaller, lighter, more cost-effective and at f1.4 in the center almost exactly as sharp as the edge only builds the sigma faster than the Canon. The Canon EF 35/1.4 II is more suitable for reproducibility than the sigma when the screen is open, and it also has significantly more image field curvature.

These are also different optics from the bouquet, high resolution and cream bokeh is to produce expensive. Sigma has a slightly different cream bokeh and for this dissolution is omitted because it saves mass, volume, cost.

And then there is the Tamron 35/1.4 and the Tamron 35/1.8 VC.

So if money and weight is not a topic; the Canon. In this way, group photos in the coal mine, or from the hand repros of images at museum light go. The EF 35 IS USM or Tamron 35/1.8 USD VC and clearly “better”.

Which Canon, there are two? The EFf/1.4L USM and the EFSAf/1.4L II USM. The first one you only get used and the second is about 1000€ more expensive than the Sigma 35mm type.

Both lenses do not give themselves much. And the Sigma Art series is one of the sharpest lenses you can find for Canon. The look of Sigma is a little too perfect/clean for some. While the Canon offers a little character. See Bokeh comparison here:

I would definitely prefer the Sigma but the first version of Canon.

Would take the sigma, that is price-performance top.
Knacksharf, quite handy and yet well processed.

Hello

the 30s DN HSM ART is a “problemless” optics for Profi DSLR. The oldtimer has the chremigere Bokeh or is more “Oldschool” from the look as a classic 7 lens (see EF 50 1.4)
