Cancel flight tickets because of Boeing 737-800 Max?

Good morning friends of the 🌞,

My mother planned to fly to Antalya for a week on January 8th, and for her, we decided on an airline that doesn't have a Boeing 737-800 Max in its fleet. And now, suddenly, as of December 14, 2021, SunExpress has taken delivery of its Max, which is based in Antalya and also operates flights from Düsseldorf to Antalya, Frankfurt to Antalya, and Amsterdam to Antalya. Can I cancel the tickets now? My mother is afraid of the death of Max.

Hello,

the tickets can only be canceled in connection with the booked tariff conditions. If there is a non-refundable rate (of which I would start from), there is no refund of the flight price.

Even at the time before the MAX was temporarily pulled out of traffic, it was still safer than driving by car to airport.

Especially at the MAX, Boing will have tried to eliminate any conceivable source of error – again some serious incident with the MAX, which is due to technical errors, can hardly be afforded by image.

Best regards, Chris

A machine change is not unusual and only because you are afraid, unfortunately you cannot cancel free of charge.

I don't know how exactly it is with Sunexpress, but I know with AA and even with Ryanair (!) you can move every flight with a Max free of charge to one with a -800. I'd like to know. But when it comes to Ryanair…

Was it not only with Ryanair to cancel the trip?

You can cancel everything against money…

You can also exaggerate it…The flyer has a license, the problems have been solved and it is safe. Your mother just has no idea.

I can only agree with you. If the machine were dangerous, it really wouldn't have permission and the airlines wouldn't use it.

737-800 and 737 MAX are different machines.

What do you really mean?

I think it's the MAX. The 800 was never in the media when I remember correctly.

Yes, the 737-800 was never because of such crashes in the media

So, sure you can cancel. I don't think there's money back.
