Can you tell my 9 and g apart?

Heyoo,

I have a stupid problem ;-; Somehow a "g" in my handwriting looks exactly like a 9.
If I make some effort, the difference looks like this

But if I write (normally) quickly, both characters look exactly the same.

  1. Can you distinguish the two characters (with a lot of imagination)?
  2. How do you write 9 and g and is it easier to distinguish between them?
  3. Do you have any suggestions on what I could change so they don't look exactly the same?

Thanks to everyone who has an answer or even a tip šŸ˜€

In the normal case, g stands together with letters and 9 together with numbers.

The distinction is not important. But if a change is possible, you have to make a clear distinction. The most unambiguous is an undercoat with loop as in Example 1. Example 2 shows other possibilities: a) the undercoat of the g is drawn clearly below the normal writing line or b) the right-hand line is drawn significantly higher at the g, so that no circle can be seen at the top. But you really only have to pay attention if the connection does not clearly determine what it should be: letter or number.

I can’t decide. But my nines and g’s look the same.

Mainly, you can read your writing, and for other readers, the context will give the rest!

Servus,

No, I don’t know if the top or the bottom is your nine.

My tip would be if it really happens that you have to write a 9 and a g in this way, which is not already understandable from the outset, whether you now use a number or a letter (for example in passwords), just use full capital letters.

Changing his writing is difficult and not really sensible if it is otherwise legible. And as a rule, it is already clear from the sentence building that there is now a letter or a number 9e.

  1. Very little
  2. I usually write on lined sides and there you can see the difference in yourself better. In addition, I make the bend down at the g somewhat clearer from the length than for a 9
  3. You can also try to write the arch at the g just a little bigger/longer/swinging

No, my g can be a nine.

As long as you place the characters correctly on an imaginary line, there is no problem. A 9 stands completely on the line with extension upwards, a small ā€œgā€ has a lower length, so that only the upper part stands on the line and the rest DARUNTER.

If you write it quite properly, you can see the difference, otherwise not.

You could accustom to writing your little g with a bow below, as with the font. Then you could distinguish it
