Can you take off compression stockings when driving in the evening?

I have varicose veins and have to wear compression stockings every day, all day except in the evening. But now I'm on my way to Portugal, and that's a 28-hour drive. The compression stockings are bothering me, and I wanted to ask if I can take them off.

Hello Marco2003795,

Of course you can pull out the hull.

But you were told why you should wear the stockings. Nonactivity, sitting activity… are the biggest problem.

It’s your health and risk. Maybe a flight here would be smart;-)

Good luck!

As much as I know, you should wear these stockings just when sitting because their function is most important. If you run a lot or drive a bike, the musculature is stimulated so that you could not miss it.

Hey,

I can imagine that the compression stockings are uncomfortable at 28 hours drive.

Nevertheless, it would be advisable not to take them off. Especially in varicose veins, the risk of thrombosis is already increased anyway. In addition, there is little movement in long car driving, which additionally increases the risk of thrombosis.

Therefore, it would not be recommended to take off the compression stockings during the car ride.

I hope I could help you.

Due to the long drive, you should carry the PPS throughout.

Especially in the car with a restricted movement it is very useful to carry it.

If you sit for so long, it would be a mistake to pull these stockings off.

Some patients do not listen to the doctor and/or do not read the package leaf. Pulling out in the evening means peculiar, not going to bed with them. Sitting is, on the other hand, the “movement” where the effect of the supporting stockings is most urgently needed.

You should have asked your doctor. Car driving is a load for the legs because little movement, hardly muscle pump.
