Can you simply delete current accounts or does it take a long time?
So, what steps do you have to take to delete an account at a bank? I can't find anything in the ING app.

You have to give the bank a written notice with manual signature. But until the account is finally gone, it can take a month in the processing processes.
You can't delete it like that.

The bank needs a shelter from you! So either cancel in a branch or in writing by post! Then the account is blocked and finally deleted after 10 years!
