Can you plug in an HDD on an iPhone 15 Pro Max as well as an SSD?

I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max with a USB-C port. I've been thinking for a long time about what kind of hard drive I should buy for long-term archiving [pictures]. You can plug in an SSD, you can also plug in an HDD and access it. And if it were a larger one with a power source, would that work, since it wouldn't be drawn from the USB-C port but from the extra power source, and would it even work? I'd be happy to hear your answer as to whether you can plug in an HDD, with or without an extra power source. I've been thinking for a long time.
