Can you please list gothic bands in the style of these bands?
I like gothic music with dark atmospheric vocals and am looking for bands like:
– Deathstars (More metal I think, but the vocals are like the vocals I'm looking for)
– Radio Werewolf
– HIM
– Miguel and the Living Dead
– Ex-vote
– Forever Grey
I know bands like Blutengel, Sopor Aeternus, and the like. I've been in the scene for a long time and want to get to know new bands. I actually listen to more metal and would like to find more goth music. But according to my research, it's apparently not that easy to truly describe bands as goth.
What I also really like and look for are bands that use dark-sounding bass, like Lebanon Hanover in the song "Gallowdance" at the beginning.
I am grateful for any recommendation 🙂
Hm… you seem to like Deathrock and Deathrock lasting Horrorpunk/Psychobilly/Gothabilly. A very good taste! And that you know Miguel And The Living Dead I think is really cool! I love the band, but unfortunately they are far too unknown.
Here are some bands you might like:
Shadow Reichenstein
Deadbolt

And another delusion. Probably just a single track. But real classic Gothic Rock in German is unfortunately very rare. So you can't miss it.

Gothic music can be easily defined musically. Bass concrete for the dark ground tone, danceable rhythm, synth effects such as distortion or sound effects for the atmosphere. Dark voice, if possible. Not necessary but usually gets better. Whether this happens in the form of rock or electro is relatively irrelevant. That was in principle.
The point is that the Gothic scene takes less attention to the technical side of music genres. They are more about atmosphere and content. In this respect, some other genres are also consumed and some of the ignorant are called Gothic.
In my opinion, it is also the biggest difference to the metal scene. It focuses on the technical/musical side. That is why the constant discussions about sub-genre belongings are virtually part of the good sound.
These differences are also the reason why both scenes are relatively close. Almost every Goth finds something he likes in metal.
that says Chat GPT:
Like the bands you mentioned, my favorites are not. But listen to Chelsea Wolfe and Alienare. Alienare is rather synth pop with merchandise influx, but for me really brilliant.
Listen to the Bloody Kisses of Type O Negative, maybe you like it
