Can you make oranges with lemon?

Hello everyone,

I bought an orange tree from Dehner last May. It came out of winter storage a week ago. It survived the winter very well, and its fruit looks good.

My actual question:

Can I graft a branch from a lemon tree onto the trunk of an orange tree? And if so, does anyone have instructions and some tips on how to do this better?

A friend of mine has a lemon tree that also bears lemons, so getting a branch for grafting wouldn't be a problem.

Best regards, Emil

AFAIK can be grafted to lemon, orange, grapefruit and… to the same base. I also have in mind that there is quite good compatibility between all citrus.

Chips and occulations often seem to be practiced, probably other procedures are also possible depending on the season – maybe there is someone who has already tried this.

When chipping/occulating, the noble rice should begin to blur (very clearly recognizable from the resulting line drawing).
