Can you install a modern radio in an old car?
Hello,
I was thinking about what to get as my first car, and for me, the W201 and the E90 were both options. I decided on the W201 because it was cheaper. But I still wanted something more modern in terms of things like music and everything. So I came up with the idea of removing the old radio and installing a new one like the one in the appendix. Do you know if that's possible? And would it be fully functional?
Does a double DIN device fit into the vehicle?
If so, a few retrofits on the car itself should be necessary, namely installation of a special mount.
A new antenna with its cableage will probably also be necessary to receive the GPS signal.
If you can theoretically do, I wouldn’t be for aesthetic reasons. Why don’t you get an AUX on Kasette adapter? Better boxes can be changed behind the panel without any problems.
If it fits in, you can install every radio in every car, and that will work.
I don’t know if this 2-DIN radio fits into the built-in shaft when you removed the Fischer C-Boxes.
ahhhhh….the fischerboxen!! a relikt der 80ger!! 🙂 cassette per knob print! 🙂 by the way…I don’t think he gets a double-din radio in, without frames and various saws and grinding work! they are the smallest problem!
I don’t know what it looks like behind the fishermen’s boxes.
hmmmm….well possible! but the thick (imagined) hobble can’t be dismantled! 😉 but no matter…deine idee 1er-din with extendable monitor, is probably the easiest solution! 😉
The antenna is connected for GPS. What the pictured radio doesn’t seem to have.
All other required cables are already available:-)
jupp….the plug/adapter must be reassembled! dauerplus…gps…etc.! but this is the smallest and cheapest problem!
The connections weren’t different from today. Mostly the plugs.
THAT would be the most ideal solution! din-1…usb, mp3, bluetooth and slot…you have to rebuild nix…except the cable!
You’re right.
Alternatively, I would install a contemporary Becker, Blaupunkt- or Grundigradio with a connection for an external signal source.
Or, if it is absolutely necessary to be a touchscreen, a 1-DIN radio with a removable monitor.
hmmm…formerly, the shafts were divided…for absorption and stability! I think it’ll be like that! but rather edit like a radio, from the rod, into a more fashionable opel or ford!
I can’t. Either completely or not.
