The strip isn't glued to the cover, but is simply wrapped in foil with the LP. If you remove the foil, you can remove the strip as well.
Tip:
Keep it, though. Japanese LPs (and CDs too) are expensive. They're worth more at resale with the so-called "Obi strip."
