Can the table withstand this?
Good morning,
Will my 0.5 cm thick glass desk support my TV?
The TV is really big and, above all, very heavy. I wanted to use it as a PC monitor since my other one just stopped working.
The glass table and the TV are a bit older, so there are no longer any boxes with exact information.
But I'd estimate the TV to easily weigh 30 kg (66 lbs) or more (probably even more). (At least it feels a lot heavier than a barbell without weights, and since a barbell weighs 20 kg.)
Do you think the table can handle it? Of course, I don't want it to crash while I'm gaming, ruining everything, and damaging the PC connected to it.
It's very messy, I'm currently rearranging things. So I skipped that for now. 😀

Hello!
If in doubt, place a wooden board on the glass surface so that the pressure from the TV is distributed over a large area.
And this wooden board must not be too thin so that it does not bend itself.
Simply have a suitable wooden board (perhaps MDF) cut to size at a hardware store. A thickness of about 1 cm should be sufficient. Ask for advice there.
But that's just an idea…
