Can someone determine my location based on my email address? Without prior notification?
Hello,
if I give someone my email address without having sent that person a message beforehand – so that person only has my email address on paper and not in their email inbox –
Is there any way to find out my IP address and therefore my location if this person sends me an email that I theoretically wouldn't reply to?
Or would the IP address only be determined if I reply to the email with my email address?
If you look at possible criminal possibilities, you cannot recognize your location from the only written mail address – probably only with a corresponding search the location of the provider’s mail server. This also applies if you get an email and don’t answer it. And even if you answer, only your provider can be recognized.
No.
Your email address has no relation to your location.
The mail server that receives your email can be removed from it. But it could be anywhere in the world, and its location says nothing about your location.
No, that’s not possible
No, because there was no communication
