Yeah, you can.
But this does not prevent you from acting morally and ethically as a reasoned being and carrying the consequences of your action (e.g. a criminal nature).

Because these actions are fortunately the exception with us human beings, and if you ask the motives, there will always be something very negaties, be it a sense of rejection, be it the same thing has been done to you, but never one will say “I thought I was doing something good and just wanted to become a father/mother”

Of course, and they also have the right to defend.
That one understands the motives and circumstances of the act (e.g. diseases, trauma, etc.) but does not make the action itself less serious.
