Can I upgrade to an older iOS?
Hi, I have an iPhone 8 with iOS 12.3.1 since 2018, but I didn't update it back then, which was a big mistake….
Well, in any case, I can hardly download anything anymore and many websites only work moderately well or not at all 🙁 . Apps are the same, What's App will even no longer support this iOS version from May 2025, which is why I'm a bit panicked and looking for solutions.
The latest iOS version I could upgrade to would be iOS 16, but I've read from others that the battery often runs out relatively quickly (iPhone 8).
Unfortunately, I don't have the money to buy a new phone and was wondering if it would be possible to upgrade to an older iOS version like iOS 14/15 or something like that so that my phone doesn't crash.
So apart from the problems above, my iPhone 8 with iOS 12 is actually running great, including the battery.
I really regret not having done it back then with the update…

who says that the battery is running quickly empty when you install iOS 16?! As a rule, the battery life becomes better when you go on newer versions. It would be total nonsense to go on iOS 14 or 15 and then not be able to use many new features. And no, that’s not possible, as these versions are no longer signed.
