Can I terminate my Magenta contract early?

I signed a contract with Magenta for home internet for €15/month for the first year and then €40. The contract lasted two years. The promised speed was 250 Mbps. It was good at 120 to begin with, but now on good days it maxes out at 70. Most days are bad, at around 20-30. I've put up with it up until now, for €15, but now that I have to pay €40, it's really getting a bit bitter. Oh, and yes, it's a box with a SIM card inside.

Can I terminate the contract early for this reason? Are there other solutions? Thanks!

The promised speed was 250Mbit/s

I don’t think so. Surely there were speeds to 250 Mbit/s.

The contract should also have details for down and upload, which are the maximum values, what are normal values and what are minimum values. You should first look exactly what the agreed performance is.

Can I cancel the contract prematurely for that reason?

No. This does not result in a right to special notice. Of course, you can quit now, but only to the regular end of the contract.

Basically, you have to report that there is a problem. The provider must be given the opportunity to fix the problem or to determine whether it is even responsible for the problem. Often enough, the problem is also with the user ( bottle setup, bad WLAN signal etc.)

If everything does not work and, for reasons due by the supplier, the contractually agreed service cannot be given to you, you can see if you can change the price of the contract or if you can cancel it extraordinarily.

PS: To prove that the promised performance is not there, you can use this link here: https://breitbandmessung.de/test

However, it is already complicated, since a number of measurements have to be made over several days.

If I understand it correctly, you have an LTE or 5G contract that comes into the Internet without DSL or cable connection.

If the box was already trying to put a little closer to the window or it could be that the volume of data was used up. After a certain amount of downloaded data, the speed is throttled.

Before taking up a dispute, all possibilities should be considered.
