Can I register my car anywhere?

If I live in Berlin but am at home in Munich over the Christmas holidays and view and purchase a car there, do I have to drive back to Berlin to register it there? Or can I register it here in Munich and live in Berlin with a Munich license plate?

Thanks

Adam

You can only register your car at your place of residence.

Please just get a short-term license plate, which you can also get in Munich, but you will need an eVB number from your insurance company.

With the short-term license plate, you then have five days for test drives and the delivery trip to Berlin, where you will then register your new car.

Of course, you register the car at your place of residence.

Will this work? You buy the vehicle, your dad approves it, and then you drive to Berlin.

or short-term license plates, so you can also go to Berlin and there it is finally allowed.
