Can I prune my rubber tree like this?
Please only reply if you know a lot about plants. My rubber tree is growing quite crookedly, and on one side it has no leaves at all. My question is: Can I cut off the one framed in red, put it in water, wait until roots form, and then plant it where the arrow points? That way, another trunk will grow from below on the bare side of the tree. Or is that not how it's done?
The rubber tree is probably one-sided due to lack of light. I strongly advise you to plant the rooted scissor in the same vessel.
On the one hand, you cause considerable injuries in the root area of the existing plant, on the other hand the young plant has no free space to develop.
For rooting, you can also put wet moss in a plastic bag and wrap around the stem tube, wait for rooting, then cut off and cultivate further. The following article is hopefully helpful for you

You can cut off the rubber tree and he'll drive it out. Possibly turn and straighten with a rod. You can place the tip in water or root it as described above and draw a plant separately from it.
However, a rod also helps to straighten and change direction by turning to the light.
