Can I get USB-C without Alt DP Mode to Alt DP Mode using an adapter or something similar?
Hey, I'm a little confused at the moment and maybe someone here can help me:
I bought a graphics display that, in addition to the usual tangle of cables (HDMI, USB, power source), also allows me to connect the tablet to my PC using a USB-C cable. When I do this, input via the tablet works (the buttons work, the device is recognized, and so is the pen), but I can't get a picture because—as I've now discovered—my USB-C ports on my PC don't support Alternate DisplayPort. (ASUS TUF GAMING Z790 BTF WIFI)
I hate tangled cables, so I'm looking for a way to get a USB-C port on my computer that functions as a DP port… but I can't find anything suitable. Is there any way? An adapter or USB hub that makes this possible, or any other accessories I can equip my PC with?
Instead of connecting the tablet to a USB C on USB C cable, you can also use a USB C on DisplayPort cable. The USB C end would then logically be for the tablet and the DisplayPort end for the graphics card.
but will the “input information” also be sent? in my performance I get only image, but the pen input or Key entry does not work anymore – or am I simply completely on the wooden path? x’D
No, that shouldn’t work.
There is Display Link, but you need to support your dock/monitor. This is a software solution that does not transfer the image via the DP alt mode.
But I’d just use a DP cable. Just take such velcro cable ties and grab them on a string, then you don’t have a cable salad.
